Originally commenced in 2010, the open-plan green development of around 350 properties has grown through a number of planned phases, with a final phase of approximately 85 homes waiting to be constructed. Whilst main access roads are maintained by the local authority, a large proportion of the development is privately maintained land not adopted by the council.
Freshney Green Management Ltd is a home owner led, not for profit, organisation originally established at the outset of the Freshney Green housing development by the property developers Linden Homes.
A number of residents sit on the management board, together with an LHP nominated tenant representative, an accountant who acts as Company Secretary, and an independent consultant advisor.
The company has an overarching responsibility to maintain and improve, where possible, the infrastructure of the development. This includes landscaping and open green areas, street lighting, roadways, drainage and other underground services, for which an annual service charge is levied on Property owners, in accordance with the covenant.
